Our match on the 16th April against Bishops Waltham has now been forfeit as they couldn’t get enough players together.This means that we take the full 9 points for the match win but we don’t get the 2 bonus points awarded to played matches.
So we head towards our final game in 5th place but with a very real chance of finishing in 4th place this year. Not the most amazing result but better than last year. Our final match is on the 30th April against the same team.
It’s been a very strange season for us so far. We started the season, with both first pair players unable to make the first 2 games. Then finally as we started to put a much stronger team together we took our first game against BGB Southampton 2, followed by beating the division 3 leaders and everything looked set to do very well. Sadly though, it turns out to be very difficult to field the full team all season and this is a mistake we will definitely not be making next season.
Playing in the league has been a great experience and the club standard has almost certainly been raised as a result. Our goal for next season will be to put together a larger squad so we always have a full, strong team.
